Workplace Inclusivity

Creating a workplace where everyone thrives helps to attract, retain and advance talent. Fostering diversity and inclusion in the workplace drives positive change and ensures the advancement of women and other under-represented groups in the workplace. Employers recognize the need to implement new practices and review existing policies to make women feel supported and safe in their workplace.

As part of the Women of Steel Forging Forward program, the CWB Welding Foundation is developing a workplace inclusivity program to improve access retention and encourage a more diverse workforce with the advancement of women in welding, fabrication and other related careers. The pilot program will run across Canada in partnership with employers.

This program will consist of a series of short-duration training courses, workshops, videos and resources to address different aspects of workplace inclusivity, such as unconscious biases, intersectionality, collaborative conflict resolution, cultural diversity, and others. The CWB Welding Foundation will collaborate with industry and other inclusivity experts to develop and pilot the program. Employers can choose learning options relevant to their workplace and achieve recognition as proud Women of Steel supporters.
